Note Reading
Choose a short passage from your lesson book — just 4 to 8 measures.
Play through it very slowly. There is no correct speed — go as slow as you need.
If you stumble on a note, stop and play just that note by itself a few times.
Now play the two notes around the tricky spot. Connect them smoothly.
Play the whole passage again slowly from the beginning.
Repeat one more time. Notice if it feels a little easier now.
Finish by playing it one final time at whatever tempo feels comfortable.
Play a short passage more smoothly by the end of the session than at the beginning.
"Slow practice is not a sign of weakness — it is the fastest way to learn. Professional musicians practice slowly every single day."
